Caring For Cotton

Cotton is a natural fibre loved for its breathability and comfort. Its natural structure does mean it's prone to some shrinkage and creasing, so a little care goes a long way in keeping the fit and finish you fell in love with.

Washing Cotton

Wash cold, either by hand or on a gentle machine cycle, and turn the garment inside out beforehand to help protect any prints, colour, or surface detail. Wash separately or with similar colours for the first few washes, as some natural dye run is normal with cotton. Skip the fabric softener, as this can affect the fabric's natural texture over time, and avoid overloading the machine, which can cause excess creasing.

Cotton can shrink with heat, so avoid tumble drying where possible, if you do, use a low heat setting and remove promptly to minimise creasing. Air drying is best for maintaining shape and fit.

If ironing, a medium-to-high heat works well on cotton, but check any trims or prints first, as these may need a lower setting or a protective cloth.
