TRYING ON YOUR NEW OH POLLY 'FIT
We kindly ask that you do your best to try to handle and repackage items with care if you decide to return them.
Hygiene and customer safety are really important to us. Items must be returned back to us in their original condition - unworn, undamaged, free of makeup, pet hairs, deodorant, perfume and must have all original tags and/or ribbons attached.
Some top tips:
- Due to the delicate nature of some of our fabrics, please remove jewellery before trying it on.
- Only remove the tag and ribbon if you're keeping the product/s.
- We recommend trying products on without makeup!
CARE FOR YOUR GARMENTS
Our garments are made to last but it's just as important that you know how to care for the specific materials. Find out how to take care of your favourite Oh Polly products.
We recommend checking the products individual care label as some fibres are blended together and require different levels of care.
TENCEL™ Modal is a cellulosic fibre made from beechwood.
When trying on garments:
- Remove any jewellery.
- Avoid wearing makeup.
- When trying on jumpsuits, playsuits or trousers, please make sure the hygiene sticker is left on.
Looking after your new favourite Oh Polly piece:
- Washing:
Machine wash your TENCEL™ garments on a gentle cycle using cold water. Use a mild detergent to minimise environmental impact. Avoid harsh detergents and bleaches, as they can damage the fabric’s integrity. - Drying: Reshape whilst damp. Opt for air-drying whenever possible. If using a dryer, select a low heat setting to prevent excessive shrinkage or damage to the fibres. Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
- Ironing: Use a low-heat iron setting for TENCEL™ clothing. If your iron has a steam setting, that can help remove wrinkles effectively. Iron on reverse.
- Storage: Hang TENCEL™ garments to allow them to breathe and prevent creasing. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause colours to fade over time.

Cotton is a cellulosic fibre made from cotton bolls (the protective fluffy layer on cotton seeds.)
When trying on garments:
- Remove any jewellery.
- Avoid wearing makeup.
- When trying on jumpsuits, playsuits or trousers, please make sure the hygiene sticker is left on.
Looking after your new favourite Oh Polly piece:
- Wash on cold or 30C, with similar colours and regular detergent.
- Avoid tumble drying and air dry to avoid shrinkage but if using the dryer is necessary use the low heat setting.
- Do not bleach.

Synthetic fibres are man-made, such as polyester, polyamide, acrylic and elastane. These are the fibres we use in our Georgette, Satin, Mesh, and Vinyl fabrics.
When trying on garments:
- Remove any jewellery.
- Avoid wearing makeup.
- When trying on jumpsuits, playsuits or trousers, please make sure the hygiene sticker is left on.
Looking after your new favourite Oh Polly piece:
- Wash less: During the washing process, fibres can break, damaging the garment and the environment. Therefore, we recommend airing and steaming your garments in between washes as well as spot-treating stains.
- Wash colder and shorter: Elastane can lose its stretch when washed at too high a temperature and washing cooler (30°C) and on a shorter cycle is generally good practice for all synthetics to prevent damage.
- Skip the spin cycle and tumble dryer: Tumble dryers produce a lot of friction and heat resulting in fibre shedding and damage to your garment. Particularly for garments containing elastane tumble drying will cause it to lose its stretch.
- Put any synthetic clothing in a washable garment bag: This protects the clothes and prevents microplastics from entering our waterways.

KEEP CLOTHES OUT OF LANDFILL
By extending a garment’s life by just nine months can reduce its carbon, waste, and water footprints by between 20 to 30 per cent.
If something happens to your item, or you feel like your clothing has served its time, and you’re on the hunt for a refresh, it shouldn't go in the bin! Here are some ways you can divert clothing from landfill:
- Follow the washing instructions and take care for your items
- Repair the item yourself or take it to a seamstress
- Upcycle them into something new - get creative!
- Donate your clothes to a charity
- Pass them onto your friends and family
- Resell the item
- Look into local clothing swap events - this is a great way to meet new people as well as finding a new fresh fit!
